QUESTION:Who is IDCO?
IDCO is a group of Distributors with a common goal of combining purchasing power to affect profitable growth by sharing innovative marketing, technology, education and industry information.
QUESTION:What benefits do IDCO Members receive?
a) Lower costs
b) Extended terms
c) Improved freight policies
d) Product lines that might not have been available
e) Networking with peers
QUESTION:Is IDCO a Distributor Association?
|ANSWER:No, we differ greatly from an association.|
IDCO’s Primary functions are:
a) Negotiate better cost levels with advantageous rebate programs from our Endorsed Suppliers
b) Large scale purchasing (e.g. truck loads) and the distribution to Members as requested
c) World-wide sourcing of products; making these products available to the smaller,
independent distributor who doesn’t have the time, finances, or international knowledge to do it alone.
Provides opportunity to purchase containers at excellent pricing levels.
d) Obsolete Inventory Program – a listing of inventory that a Member would like to sell at discount to other Members circulated by IDCO at no charge.
QUESTION:How does IDCO Operate?
|ANSWER:IDCO is incorporated in the State of Florida as INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTOR COOPERATIVE, INC. d/b/a IDCO Co-op.
By consulting with IDCO Members and potential Suppliers, coordinator researches and negotiates annual contracts for the group.
All of the Members are highly encouraged to share their opinions and knowledge pertaining to the products and potential suppliers being researched.
IDCO is managed by a President who reports to a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is elected annually.
QUESTION:Is there a minimum length of Membership?
|ANSWER:Yes, one year. After that time, membership and pricing benefits may be cancelled with a 30-day notification to the IDCO President.
QUESTION:Do my purchasing procedures change?
|ANSWER:No. Becoming an IDCO Member will not affect your normal purchasing procedures.
Ordering from our IDCO Endorsed Suppliers is easy. Purchase orders are placed directly with the Endorsed Supplier (Manufacturer);
billing is direct to the IDCO Member (Distributor). However, to insure that the IDCO pricing stays within the group, you must identify yourself as an IDCO Member when you place your orders.
All Endorsed Suppliers are sent periodic updated lists of current IDCO Members.
QUESTION:Is there an exclusive territory?
|ANSWER:No, the IDCO Board of Directors must approve all new Members.
All active Members are given a chance to comment on any potential territory conflicts and the Board of Directors attempt to minimize overlap if possible.

QUESTION:Is there product training available through IDCO?
|ANSWER:Yes! At our annual Tradeshow Endorsed Suppliers provide training classes and actual
Tradeshow tabletops staffed by their Team of professionals with vast knowledge of their products and applications that are valuable to you.
IDCO provides Industry Speakers, organizes Round Table Discussions in a setting conducive to multiple networking opportunities that will allow you to formulate good business relationships –
all available for you and any employees you wish to bring to this important meeting.
QUESTION:How many meetings does IDCO have annually?
|ANSWER:Two. Our annual Tradeshow is held in February each year and has been located in Atlanta for the past several years.
This program is devoted entirely to product training/education/networking and is open to you and anyone you wish to bring from your organization. Our second meeting is held in October; locations change each year.
This meeting concentrates on the ‘business’ of IDCO and is attended by the Principals of the Member (Distributor) Companies and their Spouses.
